Greenough Lake is one of those perfect spots to take a kid for their first fishing trip. It is stocked every year and usually has an abundance of small fish. It is a 1/4 mile hike up a gradual hill to the lake.

To get to Greenough Lake simply drive through Red Lodge in the direction of Yellowstone Park and watch for the Greenough Lake Campground which is right at the base of the climb up Beartooth Pass. It is right near the gate they use to close the pass in fact.
